Every year Forbes releases a list of highest paid athletes for the year and recently they released a list of highest paid athletes in their lifetime. The list was mainly composed of basketball players and golfers.

Number 10 on that list:

10. SHAQUILLE O’NEAL — $700 MILLION

In 2004/2005 Shaq earned a total of $29.4 million just from his NBA Salary. He was paid $10 Million more than any other player in the NBA at the time.

9. DAVID BECKHAM — $730 MILLION

In 2016 David Beckham earned over $100,000 a day from his clothing and fragrance line. Although he is retired he still earns more than most soccer players.

8. PHIL MICKELSON — $760 MILLION

Philip Alfred Mickelson (born June 16, 1970), nicknamed Lefty, is an American professional golfer. He has won 42 events on the PGA Tour, including five major championships: three Masters titles (2004, 2006, 2010), a PGA Championship (2005),and an Open Championship(2013).

7. FLOYD MAYWEATHER — $765 MILLION

Floyd was the first boxer to earn $100 Million per fight guaranteed. He recently came back from retirement to fight UFC Superstar Conor McGregor and earn well over $100 million.

6. KOBE BRYANT — $770 MILLION

Kobe Bryant retired in 2016 as the NBA’s third all-time leading scorer behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. His career earnings were second to none though. Bryant banked $680 million in salary and endorsements during his two-decade career. It is the most ever for a team athlete during their playing career. Bryant had the highest salary in the NBA for the last six years before his retirement.

5. MICHAEL SCHUMACHER — $1 BILLION

Although Michael Schumacher has earned a billion dollars in his career, he was still a very smart spender. He publicly complained about his favourite marmalade going up in price and received a box of it at home with an apology.

He has won a total of 91 Grand Prix races!

4. JACK NICKLAUS — $1.15 BILLION

Jack is now retired and he is known to be one of the best Golfers of all time. After his retirement from professional golf he devoted a lot of time to designing Golf courses.

3. ARNOLD PALMER — $1.35 BILLION

Arnold passed away in 2016. Many people say that he is the first Golfer that made golf look good!

2. TIGER WOODS — $1.65 BILLION

Tiger Woods continues to sink further away from the player that dominated the PGA Tour for a dozen years while racking up 14 Major titles. Woods has competed in only 18 official PGA Tour events since the start of 2014 and missed the cut or withdrawn from half of them (Woods made 142 straight cuts at one point). He still makes over $30 million a year from endorsements.

1. MICHAEL JORDAN — $1.7 BILLION

Michael Jordan currently earns more than any other active basketball player. He earns about $100 million a year just from his Nike deal.
