They also have high levels of magnesium and magnesium is a mineral that help control blood sugar levels. 3. Almonds can lower cholesterol levels. High LDL also known as bad cholesterol poses risk for Heart disease and the healthy fats in almonds help reduce LDL levels. A recent study found that a diet where 20% of calories came from Almonds lowered LDL cholesterol levels by an average of 12.4mg/dL.
